Meet the Team

Shi-Jen Cheng, MD FAAP

Dr. Shi-Jen Cheng has been the Medical Director of East Haven Pediatrics since 2001.  Dr. Cheng was born in Singapore, but grew up primarily in Auburn, AL and Richmond, VA.  He graduated with a BA degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, received his MD degree from Loyola University of Chicago and completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Connecticut in 1997. Go Huskies!

Dr. Cheng is happily married and has three mostly-grown children (it's debatable with the boys). He loves to cook and is always ready to talk about cars or movies with anyone, anytime. He and his family are members of Christ Presbyterian Church in New Haven and joyfully welcome any visitors to come worship with them.

Jessica Ricciardelli, PNP-BC, APRN

Jessica Ricciardelli has been practicing at East Haven Pediatrics since 2001. She graduated from Providence College with a BA in Psychology. Jessica than earned her RN and MSN from Yale University. Since graduating from Yale, Jessica has worked as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse*

Jessica has been a lifelong resident of Connecticut. She lives on the shoreline with her husband and 2 children.

Cindy Jayanetti, FNP-BC, APRN

Cindy Jayanetti received her BSN from University of Maine at Orono and her MSN from Quinnipiac University. Before joining the medical team at East Haven Pediatrics, she worked at Yale New Haven Hospital for 14 years as an RN & APRN*, with a focus in Hematology & Oncology, as well as palliative care. She teaches the Pediatric Palliative Care section and precepts Yale GEPN students.

Cindy was born and raised in Maine, moving to Connecticut with her husband in 1998. They live on the shoreline with their daughter and son. Cindy Jayanetti joined the practice in November 2012.

 

* An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a nurse with a minimum of a Master’s Degree. Advanced training is earned in a specialty area, such as pediatrics. The practitioner is fully trained to complete physical exams as well as diagnose and treat illnesses. An APRN has prescriptive privileges and practices in conjunction with a mentoring physician.
